WHAT WE'RE ABOUT
We Are About Family:
In the Congregational Christian Churches in Canada, we value serving each other as members in the body of Christ. We care for each other as a true family of churches should. We constantly remind ourselves of the bigger picture of God’s kingdom. It is not about any one denomination, association, church, or individual, its always about our collective journey as followers of Christ. Everyone matters to God.
We Are About Servanthood:
The Apostle Paul summed up our value system for us when he said, “We are your servants for Christ’s sake (2 Cor. 4:5)”. And again, in Phil. 2:3-4, he says, "Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too." That is servanthood. That is what Christ has called us to be!
We Are About Sharing Biblical Truth:
We are committed to sharing the timeless truth of God's Word–the Bible. In our age of secularism, pluralism, revisionism and deconstructionism, we remain convinced more than ever of the validity of God's Word. It contains God's absolute truth for our world today.
Just like you would not want your doctor to lie or assuage you with kind words about your prognosis, we in the CCCC will not lie about your spiritual prognosis either. We will not cover up the truth you need to hear. Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:31-32). That is the hope Jesus offers the world. That is the truth we want our world to hear. Obviously, you can see then why we are really excited to share these truths with others.
